Dr Derek Mahony
Dr Derek Mahony (Australia) is an orthodontic specialist practising in Sydney. He lectures on the wide-ranging benefits of orthodontic treatment, including from a practice management point of view, his philosophy combining fixed and functional appliances; his group of course graduates includes thousands of doctors from all over the world. Dr. Mahony approaches orthodontic diagnosis from a facial profile perspective, taking as his goal not only straight teeth, but facial beauty and proper temporomandibular joint health. Over the past decade, he has been seeing about 250 patients per week. He currently has over 3,000 patients under his care, and lectures as one of the keynote speakers at meetings of the International Orthodontic Summit, the International Association for Orthodontics, and the American Association of Functional Orthodontics. He is considered by some to be the successor to the current top lecturers in the field of orthodontics specializing in the combination of functional and fixed appliances. Dr. Mahony's presentations provide a stimulating, accessible, step-by-step resource for practitioners seeking to improve treatment outcomes.
